Why is the stinky finger called Stinkefinger?

The finger of a finger is shown when someone or something does not fit - and has been around since antiquity.

"We often insult ourselves in German with reference to, well, the anal area. The middle finger is virtually the , you asshole '  under the hand signals. That's why the wind blows, "says author Jan Skudlarek.
In his book "The Rise of the Middle Finger" he has gone to the cultural history of the insult on the ground. The malignant gesture symbolized in ancient Greece an erect penis as a provocative sexual threat. The optical similarity can not be denied: the extended long finger represents the limb, the remaining curved fingers the testicles.
In ancient times, the outstretched middle finger meant as much as: wait, I put it in your buttocks - a gesture of dominance and a sign of disapproval of the opposite: "That's the name, Stinky finger 'not far away," explains Mittelfinger expert  Jan Skudlarek  continues. Put a finger in a butt, he just does not smell like roses.
"Related to this is the interpretation as a penis extension. So, how to twist it or turn it - the finger is an insult below the belt. Translated into words, it means as much as 'fuck you'. A somewhat silly saying is also present at the moment, "Finger in Po, Mexico."
